I see nothing much has changed, Phyllis. You’re still clueless on the Church’s teachings on life, not to mention many others Catholic. Catholic teaching does not call abortion murder, which is a precise legal term that includes personhood. Catholic teaching is that the unborn are to be treated as if they are persons, not that they are persons.
Mind you, this lady has a PhD. Yes, honey, the Church does teach that they are persons, and the Church does call it murder. It’s like St. John Paul II wrote a document just for clueless you.

So, Phyllis, do you think you might have missed something? It wouldn’t be so tragic, though, if the Vatican didn’t use her as consultant from time to time and she didn’t teach college kids. The latter is the biggest tragedy.

No. I do not believe for one second that this woman with her extensive education is just plain ignorant. I believe she fully knows what she is doing and what she is spewing out of her deceptive mouth. That’s like saying the German bishops don’t know what the Church teaches about blessing homosexual unions or extending Holy Communion to protestants. Something is afoot here and it is not the Truth.
Between this woman and the German bishops, they seem to think that pushing the envelope, disregarding the teachings of the Church or any directives from the Vatican Church teaching can be summarily disregarded. She is lying and she knows this. How else can this supposedly educated, holder of a PhD. miss the mark by so far a margin?
This woman seems to think her false proclamations about abortion will hold far more water than the Church of 2000 years with the layman. To a certain extent she might be right especially with those faithful who do not know what the Church teaches. There is no excuse not to know what the Church teaches on abortion especially in this day and age of instant knowledge.
And the Bishops? They are simply just being prideful in thinking they can change Church teachings by disregarding Church teaching and saying, “Hey! We’re Bishops. We can do this and you can accept our teachings as legit”. If this kind of thinking doesn’t change soon then I’m afraid spiritual heads will roll when the time comes.
Some people who call themselves “Catholic” are in denial about the Church’s teaching on life. My own Congresswoman is like this, as is the Speaker of the House and the President. But when someone who claims to know doctrine says these kinds of things and teaches it to others it’s an other category of deceit. I don’t say it’s worse, as government leaders have great influence. But some people who are elected to office are obviously ignorant of Catholic Doctrine, even if they went to some kind of Catholic School (Maybe one that had Clown Masses and gave out Jelly Beans at Communion time?).
